Keep careful track of your sources for your Works Cited. Based on your research, you will create a profile of your individual to share with the class. This profile should provide basic background information on your individual and provide an overview of his/her stance on our main questions: where is the U.S. headed from here? what are the primary issues/concerns facing our nation? how would deal with these issues and concerns? Your notes, profile, and works cited are due by the end of the day on Monday (Reg.) and Tuesday (H). Our town meeting will be held on Tuesday (Reg) and Wednesday (H).
Questions to consider:
Vietnam Veterans Against the War began in 1967. On what basis did returning vets oppose the war?
What was going on in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968?
What was the nature of the fighting?
What were the specific challenges facing soldiers who served in Vietnam? (you might look at the DVD in our Library, "Letters Home from Vietnam" for more on the soldier view of the fighting.
